Born for this ‘The greatest story ever told’:

Born for This is the powerful telling of the Easter story performed by young people from our Catholic Secondary Schools. Born for This brings young people together along with Clifton Diocese Youth Ministry and the production team to learn the whole musical in one day. The aim of Born for This is to strengthen links between Parishes and their local Catholic Secondary School.

Born for This is performed each Lent in two locations in the diocese. You can find pictures of last years performance below and links to previous years.

Thursday & Friday of last week saw young people of St Augustine’s Catholic College, Trowbridge and St Bernadette’s Catholic Secondary School, Whitchurch bringing the Stations of the Cross to life in Born for This. Clifton Diocese Youth Ministry, supported by the production team and band from the Nottingham Diocese, led the young people through the experience, learning the whole musical in one day, to later perform for the local parish and deanery.

Over 200 people from across both parishes and the diocese came to witness Born for This.

This experience was a powerful formation experience for the young people who took part as it gave them a different perspective on the Passion story and the characters involved.

Our thanks go to Canon Liam O’Driscoll & Fr Matt Anscombe and their parishes for hosting Born for This, and supporting it through prayer and attendance. Thanks also go to the school communities of St Augustine’s & St Bernadette’s for their support. Congratulations to the young people who were part of their own personal journey and for bringing Born for This to life!

Phil Gibbons from Cliftondiocese.com spoke with two of the main characters as well as Dave Wheat about the performance:
