Fr Richard McKay and St Nicholas of Tolentino have recently been recognised in two major awards. The Parish is now the first Church to be awarded the ‘Church of Sanctuary’ nationally and Fr Richard has been awarded the ‘Bristol Diversity Award’ for the most ‘Positive Role Model in Faith and Religion’.

Fr Richard spoke with Phil Gibbons about the two awards and a bit more about what happens at St Nicks.

In the photo are Elinor Harris (Bristol Director of Refugee Action) who spoke of their long involvement in Refugee and Sanctuary ministry, John Patrick Njau, (member of our parish council and still seeking safe sanctuary with application in the Home Office), Margaret Ulloa (co-chjair of St Nicks PPC and Trustee of Borderlands), Eustace Tameh (from Cameroon and co-chair of PPC) and Fr Richard (PP and Chair of Borderlands and Bristol City of Sanctuary).
