The Celebration of Marriage will take place in our Cathedral on Saturday 3 February. Bishop Declan is inviting the people of our diocese to join him at the Celebration of the Eucharist beginning at 12noon. This now annual celebration is for the whole diocesan community and especially our married couples.

There is, of course, a desire to have with us those who are celebrating particular anniversaries across 2018. If you know of any couples in your parish who are celebrating significant anniversaries next year – silver (25), pearl (30), ruby (40), sapphire (45), golden (50), emerald (55), or diamond (60)….or beyond – then please contact us via Alexander House at, giving us the names and addresses of these couples. They will receive individual invitations from the Bishop to this diocesan celebration. We would also like to invite those couples who are preparing for marriage in 2018 or will have just entered into marriage, please get in touch with their names and contact details, too, and we will ensure they are included and invited.

It is always an encouraging celebration and, during this Year of Mission, a real opportunity to see marriage and married love as part of the mission of Christ and the Good News of God’s incredible love for our world that we proclaim.
