On Sunday 27th January, the annual Civic Mass was held at Clifton Cathedral. Attended by the Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Lesley Alexander, Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees, Honorary Alderman and other Civic leaders.
The Mass began with the Mayoral procession arriving at the West Door where it was welcomed by the Cathedral Dean, Rev Canon Bosco MacDonald and Stephen Stansfield who is a member of the Parish Council.
Bishop Declan gave the Homily and reminded everyone that today was Holocaust Memorial day and that today was not a day to celebrate but is a day to remember. He spoke about being ‘torn from ones home’ and recalled his recent visit to a refugee camp in the West Bank.
You can hear the full Homily below.
