Public Worship

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, so many aspects of our lives must change. This includes the ways in which we publicly express our faith. It is very clear that, following official advice and in order to keep each other safe, save lives and support the NHS, at this time we must not gather for public acts of worship in our churches. This will begin from Friday evening, 20th March 2020, until further notice.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In light of the fast-evolving situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have issued concise advice for parishes titled ‘The Liturgy, Parish Events and Coronavirus: Steps to take’.

The advice comes from Public Health officials working with our Healthcare Reference Group.

Government Advice

The UK Government has released its information for the public on the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), including the current situation in the UK and information about the virus and its symptoms.


We have some prayers that have been supplied by the Liturgy Office of the Bishops’ Conference that can be used during a time of ‘flu and illness.
