Some 420 people from our Diocesan Family attended a very successful and inspiring Diocesan Day at St Brendan’s College on Saturday.
It was a real opportunity for us to gather together to reflected upon, to celebrate and consider all that it means for us to be the Church in this corner of the world.
In our diocesan Year of Mission, we came together to renew our understanding of the Church we are called to be and the Church we need to be for our world today. The day together reminded us that we are not on our own and the task of bringing good news to the world is not some-thing we have to face single handedly.
The day was built around a keynote address, two workshops, a pleanery session where we explored what we have heard and learnt during the day, and the celebration of Mass with our bishop.
Hannah Vaughan-Spruce works in the world of Divine Renovation as their UK Coordinator and delivered the keynote talk along with delivering two of the workshop. Her keynote focused on our mission of outreach to those who, somehow, have lost touch with Church and the community as well as those the Gospel message has yet to touch. You can hear her keynote in full below.
Phil Gibbons spoke over a busy and noisy lunch to many of the workshop leaders and asked them all what they were hoping that people would get from the day from their respective workshops and you can hear that podcast below:
