The working document, ‘Instrumentum Laboris’, for the forthcoming Synod on Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment has been released in Rome.

The 67-page document comes from a long preparatory phase which began with the announcement of the synod by Pope Francis on October  6, 2016. The English version is due to be published next week and will be on our Synod pages.

The Synod takes place in Rome from 3rd to the 28th October 2018 and is a great opportunity for our diocese to invite and welcome young people into our parishes and value all they give, and can give, to our Church.

Resources for Parish groups, Pastoral Councils and Young people are available from our diocesan website with much more to follow as we journey towards the Synod in October.

We hope to provide the opportunity to link-up live with Dave Wheat, our Diocesan Coordinator who will be at the CYMFed members conference in Rome at the time of the Synod.

We invite young people to join us at the Diocesan Day on 30th June for their own Synod workshop. It’s a great opportunity to meet young people from across the diocese and enjoy the day together. There will be games and activities including a ‘Mock Synod’.
