St Francis School in Nailsea, held its annual charity sponsored event at the end of June. This year the children were supporting The Grand Appeal – a charity which supports patients, families and staff at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
At the fundraising event, the children completed laps of the school field in different ways including walking, running, skipping, walking backwards, dribbling a ball, bouncing a ball and three-legged. They raised over £2600.00 in sponsorship money, with an extra £500+ from gift aid. This amount makes St Francis School amongst the top ‘Grand Appeal’ school fundraisers.
Stephanie Benson, the fundraising officer at the children’s hospital, visited St Francis School this week and told the children how their support will help the young patients in the hospital. Children from the school presented Stephanie with a cheque and in return, Stephanie awarded the children with a certificate and Gromit figurine.
