St Francis School prayer team recently visited Bishop Declan at his home in Leigh Woods to talk about the Year of Mission. They wanted to share with him news of the special things they have been doing to put their faith into action during this special year. They shared photos of activities that had taken place in school to support those in need both in the local community and further afield. The children told Bishop Declan about charity fundraising events, tea parties for the elderly and lonely, sandwich-making for the homeless and food collections for the local Food Bank . They also asked him a number of questions to find out more about him, his role as Bishop and the Year of Mission. Bishop Declan showed the children around his house and garden and supplied them with cakes and refreshments which were very well received! The Prayer Team thoroughly enjoyed their visit and were made to feel very welcome. A recording was made of the interview with Bishop Declan which the children played back to the rest of the St Francis School community on their return to school.
