The pupils of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School have been busy working on a secret project to help make Bath’s famous Christmas Market even more memorable for shoppers and visitors.

The school in Weston Village was selected to decorate a piano, donated by The Piano Shop located Canton Place, now installed in the new section of the market found on Milsom Street. The market’s organisers hope this new feature will encourage visitors to host their own sing-along and enhance the experience for others.

Andy Tarrant, Head Teacher of St Mary’s said: “The pupils and staff loved decorating the piano and it has really helped the children feel part of their local community. Our school cares passionately about the creative arts and projects like this really highlight the importance of music in bring people together and spreading happiness.”

The market, running from November 22 to December 9, is made up of more than 160 chalets, dotted in and around the famous Georgian city.
