The Chaplaincy Team of Saint Joseph’s Primary and Nursery School in Burnham on Sea with Fr. Frank Wainwright crowned Mary with flowers. It was held in the school’s Memorial Garden to Fr. Barry, their previous parish priest.
Fr Frank and the chaplaincy team led the service and had representatives from each of the classes who presented potted flowers in front of ‘Our Lady’s statue.’ They moved everything to the entrance with a prayer for the children to pause and say as they passed the statue during the school day.
The staff at St Paul’s Primary school in Yate led by Cathy Hinchey have worked hard to create a Marian garden.
It allows every child and parent walking around the school to see the statue of Our Lady every day. The school were able to borrow at statue from St Patrick’s, Redfield. One of the staff was able to get reduced priced compost from the local B&Q which has enabled them to plant wild -flower seeds which will grow around Mary. The staff are taking great care of the statue lifting her daily in and out of the school building, so she doesn’t get rain damaged. The classes have also made special visits to the Marian garden during the day.
