On Sunday 5 July members of the Swindon Catenian Circle handed over a cheque for £4,450 to Fr Colin Mason, Vocations Director for Clifton Diocese. This generous donation is specifically for the clergy training fund to help pay for the seminary training
Fr Colin thanked the members of the Catenians and said that he was delightfully surprised by how large the cheque was. “From my time as a parishioner of St Aldhelm’s, Malmesbury many years ago”, said Fr Colin, “I have always noticed how keen the Catenians have been to support our seminarians and the vocations work of our diocese.”
The Catenians in the Swindon circle have worked hard to raise this money, resulting in a very generous total. This is much needed at this time, since we missed the collection that we would normally have had in May for the clergy training fund. Our diocese will have four students at seminary this Autumn and the annual cost of training each man is significant. This donation helps make this possible and is another example of the Catenians’ ongoing commitment to vocations.
