The speakers and workshops for this year’s Diocesan Day have now been confirmed. An information booklet, which can be downloaded below, will also be sent out to parishes and schools.
We look forward to welcoming you to our annual Diocesan Day at St Brendan’s College on Saturday 6 July.
It is good for us to be together as we gather to reflect, to celebrate and consider once more what it means for us to be Church. In our diocesan Year of Prayer, we come together to deepen our relationship with God and with one another. We are blessed to have Fr. Denis McBride to lead us in reflecting upon our response to the invitation to engage in a relationship with God and the Church. Fr. Denis is a Redemptorist priest and author who has written extensively on the Gospels. His warm and engaging approach will give us new insights into how different personalities within the scripture respond to the voice of God. He will help us to reflect on what this means for us. How do we respond to God’s invitation in our own life? Personal and communal prayer are intrinsically linked. They are enriched when we allow ourselves to enter more fully into the sounds and silence of prayer and allow God to speak to us.
To guide, support and engage us in different ways of praying we are offering a wide range of workshops from which you can sign up for at the beginning of the day. We hope that there will be something for everyone, including our young people and children. Lunch is provided, please just let us know you are coming by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 0117 902 5595.
Bishop Declan will be present with us and will bring our day to a close with the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist at 4.15pm.
